Rockland Saint Mary Primary takes children from the age of 4 to 11. Our children come from the village and from as far away as Alpington, Norwich and Newton Flotman.

There are approximately 70 pupils in our small and welcoming school. The children work in three small class bases.

We are like a family and each child is treated as an individual as well as an important part of the whole group. We involve the children in all aspects of school life including decision making and planning for the future. We have an active School Council and Eco Council.

Our friendly school, some in the original Victorian building, is situated near the renowned historical city of Norwich. The village of Rockland Saint Mary is based in peaceful countryside close to the Norfolk Broads.

Our school has a rich and varied curriculum enabling all children to succeed. We are a founder school of the SAW Project. The SAW project links Scientists, Poets and Artists with children at our school. All Key Stage 2 children have taken part in two projects and presented their work at the John Innes Institute.

Key Stage 1 have taken part in Vocal Force.

Last term the whole school took part in a Cultural Week. Find out about it in the news pages.

In the picture Bitterns are learning to play Boules from France.

We have a gazova and nature area, an outdoor classroom and quiet place for playtimes.

We have a large field for sport and summer playtimes and lots of playground space for winter breaks.

Footprints Club have set up a wormery in the nature area.

When we gained our Eco Schools Award we won a day out at Wells Field Study Centre.

'This is a good school. It provides a rich curriculum that meets the needs of pupils well.'
